Independent Commissioner

Chris is accredited under sections 39A and 39B RMA with a chairing endorsement, and is available for appointment as a hearings commissioner anywhere in New Zealand. He is on commissioner panels for a number of district and regional councils.

District & Regional planning, designations

Advice and compliance planning and review process – notification, s.32, conflicts and decision making. Advice on processes and drafting under Part 8; Representation before local authorities and the Environment Court.

Development and subdivision consents

Advice and representation on drafting applications for consent, working with witnesses, and hearings and mediations before local authorities and Environment Court.

Infrastructure projects

Working with multiple consent authorities and regulators, and interest groups; coordination and planning with experts and designers; representation at hearings and mediations.

Commercial projects

Coordination and planning with property and construction lawyers; liaising with local authorities and other regulators on all consent issues; preparation and representation (as above) on all consent issues.

Mediation

Chris is available to act as a mediator or to represent you in mediation.
